Villa Noailles / 22e festival international de mode et de photographie

For the 20th anniversary of his fashion house, Christian Lacroix commissioned designer David Dubois and choreographer Christian Rizzo to create greater visibility for his ready-to-wear line.
The first phase took place in the Villa Noailles swimming pool for the Festival International des Arts de la Mode 07. Later, the exhibition will go to the Semper Depot in Vienna, the Galeries Lafayettes in Paris, MOCA Taipei, etc.
Each space has a different context.
The idea is to exhibit clothes without turning the objects into fetishes, while blending the everyday and the imagination, and to aim for a minimalist dramatic effect with a playful baroque feeling.
This collaboration between two artists from different disciplines also highlights Christian Lacroix's fondness for offsetting the various aesthetics and†methods that inspire him.
20 outfits are on display for this 20th anniversary of the Maison Lacroix, providing 20 years of history and many stories.
David Dubois and Christian Rizzo have resolved to:
Stage situations that reveal gaps and friction between the way the clothes are presented and what they represent.
Create something theatrical out of everyday movements and gestures.
Emphasize the models' posture in relation to their environment.
Create natural links between the space itself and the current context of the exhibition. See the scenic design as an extension of the clothes.
Bring into play Christian Lacroix's symbolic world and his inclination towards crossing over into other creative forms.

Exhibition co-produced with Galeries Lafayette, presented at the Festival de Hyeres, then at the Gallery at the Galeries Lafayette Haussmann.
